Grandpa Mishas Birthday

Here's a clipping from today's Postimees. It loosely translates as "Former colleagues from Otepää and Tartu congratulate the long-time director of Tartu's Meat Processing Plant and Tartu Cannery on his birthday".

Happy birthday Grandpa. Wish I could come visit you more often...

Today I'm gonna build my first sukkah ever. Don't you feel the excitement in the air? :) Happy holidays people!

On regular days the land is owned by cars. We live in fear of them.

Don't forget to move your clock backwards one hour tonight. If you live in Israel that is...

Shana Tova people! May things go a bit easier this year.

People ask me if I fast on Yom Kipur, and I say "no, it's pikuach nefesh" (life in jeopardy). "What?!" they ask. "Yes", I explain," I get so crazy from hunger I might kill someone". Have an easy one, if you're into it. I'm going cycling.

P.S: Have you set you watches back one hour? (dial 1455 for the exact time)

We've just had the first rain of the year. Or maybe it's the last one, depending on how you look at it. A short but heavy downpour in the middle of the night. This morning everything is dry again, the sun is out and the air is cool and clear. The floor of the patio shows black patches of dust that came down from the roof. Hello Fall. Hello Jewish New Year. Hope this year will be less stressful for all of us. May we start building instead of fixing what's broken.

The best conspiracy-theory movie about 9/11 so far (1.5 hours running time).

Is it customary to give a gift for Rosh ha-Shana to the cleaning lady? (at home, I mean)
If so, what kind of gifts are popular?

Fireworks in Tel-Aviv tomorrow (heb). Don't miss it if you can!

If I hear "ani ve-Simon ve-Moiz ha-katan" one more time, I'm gonna smash something.
