Take your best summer photos and plant them into Google Earth. What a rush...

Dad just loves maps. After our visit to Saaremaa he took his Corel Draw and produced this route map. Pretty good coverage, but only of the most touristic places. I wish I could get back there, for the "off the beaten track" locations (I can only imagine the beaches this island has, not to mention the small islets). Maybe in a few years, when Yahel is older...

Have you seen the new Emap site? (heb) It can actually show aerial photos of the entire country, just like Google Maps. If you know of any military bases (and I won't tell you where they are :), try to locate them on the map. You're in for a surprise. The bases have turned into green fields, sandy dunes, or empty dirt lots, depending on their surroundings. There, try an easy one - locate the Kirya in Tel-Aviv.

They say that NASA World Wind is better than Google Earth. Anyone tried them both?

Got "Immortality Inc." by Robert Sheckley and "Solaris" by Stanislav Lem from our public library. I'm afraid I'll be through them before I get to the army :)
