May. 4th, 2003 08:32 amHere is something peculiar I noticed about the word "earth". (Sorry Auli, you heard this before ;-)
English: earth
German: erde
Dutch: aarde
Swedish, Nowregian, Danish: jord
Arabic: أَرْض [ard]
Hebrew: ארץ [erets]
.. but then I got stuck with the Latin-derived languages. Terre? Terra? Tierra? And then it struck me! "Terra" is "earth" in reverse!
