I have a whole bunch of disks just lying around in my car, and I can never remember what's in them. The other day I slipped in one of my electronic chillout tracks and started listening. It was long and tedious, and "nothing to write home about", but then ... a raw gem! On the 38th minute a brilliant sample of Mongolian throat singing. This is the kind of sound that makes you go "how the hell does he do it"? One man, one set of lungs, one throat, and so many different sounds all at once. It's called "khoomei" in their language; here's a 2 minutes sample. All voices are natural (except of course the motorcycle in the end).

And here's a different sample of throat singing, this time from Siberia. Look at the girl on the left. Can you guess what kind of khoomei voice she will produce?

I sure have days when I feel like going aaarrrrrgggghhh-bzzzzzzz, or whatever they're saying.
