Bad seeds!

Why on earth would I Google for "nick -cave seeds"? ;-)

It turns out that in order to make certain seeds germinate, you have to nick them! It's a simple procedure every gardner supposedly knows. It involves making a small hole in the outer coat of the seed (and probably soaking it afterwards). This should help the seed absorb water and produce a sprout. Now, who would have known?
