Thank you! Errr...
Sep. 6th, 2004 03:08 pmSomething bothers me about the way people end interviews on the radio. Usually, there's someone in the studio asking the questions, and someone in the field answering them. At the end of the interview, the interviewer will invariably say "Thank you very much". And then comes the awkward pause. What to answer? Some people answer with "thank you", meaning "thank you for providing me with a soapbox". Some people say "you're welcome" (אין בעד מה; בבקשה), which sounds like "I was gracious enough to give you the info you requested". And many inexperienced interviewees just get stuck. I don't blame them. What is the best answer?
