Sufism.

"One went to the door of the Beloved and
knocked. A voice asked, 'Who is there?'
He answered, 'It is I.'
The voice said, 'There is no room for Me and Thee.'
The door was shut.
After a year of solitude and deprivation he returned and knocked.
A voice from within asked, 'Who is there?'
The man said, 'It is Thee.'
The door was opened for him."

In the name of Allah most Gracious most Merciful.

Dear friends, after a long period of contemplation I have arrived at the decision to convert to Islam. I see the Muslim faith as the most peaceful, tolerant, rational and inspiring of all. I believe it can fill the void that's been governing my life in the past few years. I am planning to attend the lessons of Dr. Muhammad abu Dhayl in Taybeh, should he agree to take me as his student. All inappropriate entries from my journal will be gradually removed, and the comment links will be changed from "buy me a beer" to "ما رأيك؟" ("what is your opinion"). I hope you bear with me as I begin this journey. May Allah's peace and blessings be upon you all.
