• Got a call-up order for reserve duty in the summer. No, it has nothing to do with the Disengagement Program. I'll be guarding the Air Force base in Haifa mid-July to mid-August. Not the best time weather-wise, but ... what the heck. With a little bit of luck, this might be my last reserve duty ever.


• We invited the roof-man over, to get a price estimate for building an awning over our back door. He took a look around, and asked what kind of material we wanted. There were the regular tiles, and some modern galvanized-steel-whatever covers. We went for the latter, and he said that he has some hardly used material, which he dismantled from Eli Hanna's house. With such distinguished ancestry we agreed immediately.


• I've been coughing like a coal miner for a week. The doctors say there's nothing wrong with me. If anyone's got any grandma's remedies, feel free to share. Tea with honey doesn't seem to work.
