Round and about.
May. 1st, 2006 01:04 pmSome cool places we discovered near Kfar Yona recently.
- In moshav Yanuv there's a big and messy do-it-yourself warehouse called Jewe (pronounced "yeh veh"). The prices are dirt-cheap, and the people are friendly and willing to help. They've got wood, metal fixtures, handles, knobs and such.
- At the Ma'abarot junction they've built a nice shopping center. It already has a big grocery store (open 7 days a week), as well as some fast food joints, some clothes stores, a hiking supplies store, a pharmacy, and a book store. More to come soon.
- Opposite the shopping center, there's the Ma'abarot kibbutz itself. Inside the kibbutz there's a restaurant called "Beit ha-Yain" (the Wine House). Its specialty is wine of course, but it's also a great place to have dinner, with grilled meat, home-baked bread, local cheese and such. Not terribly expensive, and a good place to have smoked pork chops, if you're into that stuff (I am :)
