On our last day in Rome, as we were having breakfast at the hotel's dining room, I heard a family with kids at the next table speaking English. I listened in on their conversation, and the accent seemed a bit Australian to me. I asked the missus what she thought, and she said she had no idea whatsoever. I was really curious whether I got it right, but didn't have a chance to strike a conversation with them. Then I heard a familiar word from behind my back, looked over my shoulder, and it was like in a cartoon - they were spreading Vegemite on their kids' sandwiches...
