Some natural things that are "out there" are often not taken seriously, because you never actually see them. You know there are deadly spiders, poisonous scorpions, lethal plants and whatnot, but you don't worry about them, because you're not likely to encounter them. Even if you go camping you consider them to be elsewhere.
