Listening to "The Roots of Human Behavior".

Barbara J. King says that some monkeys in the wild display strange behaviour when their offspring die at young age. They keep carrying the dead babies with them for a while, trying to feed them, groom them, and treat them as if they were still alive. This is so sad. I wonder, if they can't grasp the concept of "death", or is it some weird mourning ritual.
