Listening to Akunin's "Узница Башни" ("The Tower's Captive") in the car. The story features, along with Akunin's own detective Erast Fandorin, two famous characters from Conan Doyle's books: Sherlock Holms and Dr. Watson. A very curious combination, no doubt. But I was wondering, is it legal (©-wise) to use another author's characters in your book? Is it a common practice?

One of the first electronic pieces that became popular with the general public. Can you remember this tune?
