Stamps from Thailand.
Oct. 12th, 2011 06:58 amGot a Thai postcard the other day, and was almost going to toss it into the postcard box, when I noticed the special stamps:

They are both about his majesty Bhumibol Adulyadej, the King of Thailand. The one on the left commemorates the king's birthday anniversary, and has a real grain of wheat attached to it (I foolishly tried to peel it off, but it was stuck like crazy). The one on the right shows the sixtieth (!) anniversary of his majesty's accession to the throne. It is funny to see the head of state just hiking in the hills with the camera around his neck, like a typical Japanese tourist. What a strange image for portraying greatness? A different world indeed.
